The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan has issued a strong condemnation following a deadly attack on a mosque in the Syrian city of Homs, describing the incident as a grave act of violence against innocent civilians.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Afghan Foreign Ministry expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and conveyed its sympathies to the government and people of the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as to the families of the victims.
According to local reports, the explosion occurred inside a mosque belonging to the Alawite minority community. The attack claimed the lives of at least eight people, while 18 others sustained injuries of varying degrees.

Afghanistan’s statement emphasized the importance of protecting places of worship and reaffirmed its opposition to all forms of violence targeting civilians, regardless of location or religious affiliation.
