Feeding the poor and needy is an act that draws us closer to Allah. We earn His forgiveness, mercies and blessings through this act of charity.

“Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah?s cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night. (Bukhari)

Muhammad Jamal, Niger Correspondent

During this pandemic, which has caused economic downturn and financial meltdown, most developed countries are facing burdensome challenges to feed the needy. Just imagine the situation in the most underdeveloped country of the world – Niger – carrying the 189th rank out of 189 countries in the human development category and with the toughest climate in the world to live in as 80% of its land area lies in the Sahara Desert.

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya has always been there to help the underprivileged in every corner of the world, regardless of race, religion and colour.

Keeping in mind the instructions for helping the deprived and needy given by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V, may Allah be his Helper, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Niger came to rescue the people of Teynoma village. Village Teynoma is the ancestral village of the speaker of the National Assembly from Niger, Mr Hussaini Teeni. Earlier he had explained the situation to Amir Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Niger, Asad Majeeb Sahib and asked for help for the inhabitants.

With the approval of Huzooraa, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Niger launched the food distribution programme. More than 1000kg of sugar and 3000kg of rice were distributed for 200 families. A point to note is that the work was done solely on a humanitarian basis as there is not a single Ahmadi in that village. This act of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Niger brought joy and delight in the village and cheerful faces with the expression of gratitude could be seen everywhere.

Amir Sahib Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Niger, president of Humanity First Niger and the advisor of the National Assembly speaker for Niger participated in this ceremony and this event was covered by three famous newspapers and two regional radios.
