Foreign Ministers from Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt issued a joint statement on Sunday expressing support for steps announced by Hamas in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal aimed at halting the war in Gaza.
According to the ministers, Hamas’ decision to move forward with the initiative — which includes the release of all hostages, whether alive or deceased, and the immediate launch of negotiations — offers a rare opportunity to advance towards ending the conflict.
The statement also welcomed President Trump’s call for Israel to halt its bombing campaign and to begin implementing the terms of the proposed exchange agreement. The ministers praised his declared commitment to advancing regional peace.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, the ministers stressed that these developments could open the door to a lasting ceasefire and provide relief from the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
In addition, they commended Hamas for its readiness to transfer Gaza’s administration to a transitional Palestinian committee composed of independent technocrats. They urged swift negotiations to finalize mechanisms for the proposal’s full implementation.
The ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to:
- Support the immediate end of hostilities in Gaza.
- Guarantee the delivery of unrestricted humanitarian aid.
- Ensure no forced displacement of Palestinians.
- Safeguard civilians from further harm.
- Secure the release of hostages.
- Reinstate the Palestinian Authority in Gaza.
- Work toward unifying Gaza and the West Bank.
- Establish a reliable security mechanism for all sides.
- Achieve a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
- Facilitate the reconstruction of the territory.
They emphasized that these steps must pave the way toward a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
