FEED THE POOR

Feeding the poor and needy is an act that draws us closer to Allah. We earn His forgiveness, mercies and blessings through this act of charity.

“Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah?s cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night. (Bukhari)

They left their homes in Lidcombe, in Sydney’s west, before sunrise on Saturday, armed with 30 kilos of sausages and meat, bread rolls and 30 boxes of water.

Helping Others

According to the 2016 Australian Census, the number of Muslims in the country constituted 604,200 people, or 2.6% of the total Australian population, an increase of over 15% of its previous population share of 2.2% reported in the previous census 5 years.

Muslims have been offering a helping hand to their communities struggling with drought and bushfire.

Earlier in November, a Southern Queensland town received a massive donation of tonnes of hay from Muslim Aid Australian charity.

Last year on `Eid Al-Adha day, more than 30,000 Australian Muslims gathered in Sydney to pray for rain and an end to what’s been called the worst
drought in living memory.

In 2016, a big number of Muslim refugees volunteered to help save communities from dangerous bushfires, in an area facing a shortage of fire-fighting volunteers.
