Two Muslim players in German football giants Bayern Munich refused to hold glasses of beer in the annual promotional photoshoot, due to their religious beliefs.
As part of a partnership with local brewery Paulaner, Bayern Munich players appeared holding a glass of beer while donning traditional lederhosen.
Senegalese Muslim player Sadio Mane and Moroccan Muslim player Noussair Mazraoui both refused to hold beer, Sports Brief reported.

Mane sat at the front, while Mazraoui stood next to Jamal Musala in the third row.
The players’ decision has been widely commended by many on social media.

The players refrained from posing with the alcoholic beverage as it goes against Islamic religious beliefs.
Islam takes an uncompromising stand in prohibiting intoxicants. It forbids Muslims from drinking or even selling alcohol.
The general rule in Islam is that any beverage that get people intoxicated when taken is unlawful, both in small and large quantities, whether it is alcohol, drugs, fermented raisin drink or something else.
