The Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Crimea and the city of Simferopol donated one million rubles for the construction of an Orthodox church in the village of Skalistoe in the Bakhchsarai district.

The decision to make a donation to the creation of the monastery of Lazar of Murom was announced by the Crimean Mufti Emirali Ablaev during a meeting with the Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea Lazarus, the press service of the local diocese reported.
During the conversation, the topic of strengthening inter-confessional dialogue and issues related to the activities of the inter-confessional council of the Crimea “Peace is the gift of God” was discussed. In turn, the metropolitan presented his colleague an album about St. Luke of Crimea.
The monastery of Lazarus Muromskog, located in the foothills of the ancient Gothic settlement “Bakla”, began to be restored in the summer of 2012.

The temple has already become a place of pilgrimage for Orthodox Christians from all over the country. In mid-March, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his Turkish counterpart Recep Erdogan to open the Cathedral Mosque in Simferopol. Designed for more than 2.5 thousand people, the temple began to be erected in 2016 under the patronage of the head of the Russian state.
