Aliyu Trust Foundation in collaboration with Urban Shelter has commenced the construction of a 650-capacity mosque for the Organisation of Thadamunul Muslimeen (OTM), a Muslim group, at Lokogoma, Abuja.
Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony, Malam Suleiman Ibrahim said the mosque was being built on a 2000sqm land expected to accommodate an Islamic training centre.
Ibrahim, who spoke on behalf of the MD/CEO of Urban Shelter, Hajiya Sadiya Aliyu, and MD of Aliyu Trust Foundation, Hajiya Firdaus Aliyu, said the foundation would build the main mosque while the training centre would be constructed through community contribution.
The Chief Imam of Zone 3 Mosque, Dr Tajudeen Adigun Bello, performed the symbolic brick-laying at the event in company of Hajiya Sadiya, Hajiya Firdaus, representatives of OTM led by FCT Wakeel, Ustadh Tajudeen Adebayo, and representatives of the contractor among others.
He thanked the chairman of Urban Shelter, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu, for fulfilling his pledge to build the mosque and members of his family, Urban Shelter and Aliyu Trust Foundation for the support given to him.
The scholar prayed Allah to build a house in Paradise for all who contributed to the success of the project.
