Marine El Himer, a French model and reality TV star, has converted to Islam, sharing a video with her fans, showing her taking the shahada or declaration of faith at a mosque.
Two days after the announcement, Himer shared her photos in hijab near the Ka`bah in the holy city of Grand Makkah, Anadolu Agency reported.
“There are no words strong enough to express the intensity of happiness and emotions experienced at this very moment. A spiritual journey that I hope will continue to uplift and guide me Inshaallah,” she posted on Instagram.
She added that this was “a choice of soul, heart, and reason.”
Himer, followed by millions of people on social media, revealed that she had accepted Islam a few months ago.
Himer featured on reality television Show Les Princes et les Princess de l’Amour (The princes and princesses of love) in France.
The popular influencer also thanked her followers for their support and kindness.
Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world, with the number of Muslims set to grow at more than twice the rate of the overall world population between 2015 and 2060 according to research by the Pew Research Center.
Earlier in September 2022, a French woman converted to Islam in Turkey after being impressed by her Muslim friend.
Another French 85-year-old man converted to Islam while he was on holiday trip to Turkey with his Muslim neighbors.
