In commemoration of International Muslim Women’s Day, Al-Zahraa Basic School for Girls in Hajjah province organized a cultural event on Tuesday under the theme “Zahraa of Faith in the Face of Tyranny”. The event coincided with the anniversary of the birth of Sayyedah Fatima Al-Zahraa, peace be upon her, a revered figure in Islamic history.
During the event, Deputy Governor Mohammed Al-Qadi emphasized the importance of honoring this occasion, noting its relevance to the lives of Yemeni women and families. He underscored the need to embrace the faith-based values embodied by Sayyedah Fatima Al-Zahraa, highlighting her role as a model of Islamic morality, patience, and unwavering faith.
Judge Abdul Majid Sharafuddin, head of the Grievance Redressal Authority branch in Hajjah, reflected on the significance of Sayyedah Fatima Al-Zahraa’s legacy, citing her revered status as the daughter of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. He discussed her prominence in the Qur’an, referencing verses such as Al-Mubahala, Al-Kawthar, and the Kisaa narrative. Sharafuddin called on attendees to draw inspiration from her life, which exemplifies the highest standards of faith, sacrifice, and moral strength.

He further criticized efforts by external forces to marginalize the influence of Sayyedah Fatima Al-Zahraa in educational curricula, alleging that Zionist-American entities have sought to erase her historical and spiritual significance.
Abdulaziz Al-Warfi, a member of the Unity of Scholars and Learners, applauded the resilience of Yemeni women, describing them as modern examples of strength, sacrifice, and faith. He praised their active role in confronting ongoing challenges, particularly their unwavering support for Palestine and Gaza.
Yemeni women today stand as a beacon of steadfastness, patience, and moral fortitude,” Al-Warfi stated, acknowledging their continued dedication to humanitarian causes and their vital role in the nation’s resilience.
The event served as a platform to celebrate the enduring influence of Sayyedah Fatima Al-Zahraa while recognizing the significant contributions of Yemeni women in upholding values of faith, sacrifice, and justice in the face of adversity.
