The Qur’an in Surah al Isra v 82 states

And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.

Fruits generate taste and joy. For every joy and pleasure in this duniya, Allah allows it to be done to remind us about the pleasure and happiness of jannah. Every mu’min should reflect, glorify Allah. A lot of these fruit are branches of the reality of the fruit of jannah. If we take it as just basic pleasure, we lose the message and become like cattle.

Two characteristics distinguish us from animals. The first is al bayyan, the ability to communicate with each other with messages, passing knowledge, news, comprehension and understanding.

The second is revelations, which were only given to jinn and mankind. Angels do not get revelation, for they were created only to worship Allah. Unlike mankind and jinn, angels are not able to disobey Allah, and were not created with weakness and temptation. Animals have no revelation, hence no duties, accountability or spiritual understanding. That is why when Allah insults people, He compares us to animals, namely cattle!
