Feeding the poor and needy is an act that draws us closer to Allah. We earn His forgiveness, mercies and blessings through this act of charity.

“Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah?s cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night. (Bukhari)

As the world continues to grapple with the effects of the coronavirus outbreak, people are becoming more and more in need of assistance to cope with daily life. On humanitarian grounds, it is up to those who can off er assistance to do so.

One such organisation which has been making efforts to ease the burdens of Guyanese is Humanity First Guyana and Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Guyana.

By the grace of Allah, Humanity First Guyana and Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Guyana has been so far engaged in a countrywide effort to bring ease to the hundreds of Guyanese suffering across the country; from as far as Linden, to Berbice and Georgetown.

We have been able to provide help to over 200 families with food hampers, medical supplies and clothing. Additionally, we have been able to provide over 360 facemasks to Guyanese in need of them. The efforts which began since April have also seen the distribution of 24 food hampers to the residence located in Logwood Village up the Demerara River.

We are also committed to helping all Guyanese; as such prisoners housed in the New Amsterdam Prison benefited from the distribution of a number of ointment and facemasks which was done by the Rosignol chapter of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Guyana. These efforts will continue by Humanity First Guyana as it aims to bring ease to as many Guyanese people as possible during this Covid-19 pandemic.
