Sheikh Abdullah Al-Buaijan, imam and khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, spoke passionately about Islam’s foundation as a religion of peace and security at a recent peace conference held in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. As the guest of honor, Sheikh Al-Buaijan addressed a gathering of thousands under the conference theme, “Islam: A Religion of Humanity and Peace,” emphasizing Islam’s essential values of unity, harmony, and compassion.
In his speech, Sheikh Al-Buaijan cautioned against internal divisions, warning that discord among Muslims undermines national unity and disrupts peace. He stated, “Disunity and divisions weaken nations and communities, destabilizing their strength and resilience. Such rifts can lead to societal chaos, spark conflicts, and even fuel wars.” He reiterated that Islam strongly discourages divisions, viewing unity as a key to societal success and resilience.

Kerala’s Minister for Waqf and Hajj, V. Abdurahiman, also commended Saudi Arabia’s active role in promoting peace, moderation, and Islamic values globally. He acknowledged the Kingdom’s contributions to fostering mutual understanding and stability among Muslim communities worldwide.
Organized by Kerala Nadvatul Mujahideen, the conference attracted over 50,000 attendees, with live broadcasts reaching over four million viewers. Sheikh Al-Buaijan also led the Maghrib and Isha prayers for the congregation, marking the spiritual significance of the gathering and inspiring attendees to embody Islam’s core message of peace and unity.
