The Islamic Republic of Iran has again called on the United Nations Security Council to take decisive action against the United States and Israel, following Washington’s latest acknowledgment of its role in military strikes carried out against Iranian territory earlier this year.
Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, sent a detailed letter to the Council on Thursday, arguing that newly released information from the United States further confirms America’s direct participation in what he described as unlawful and coordinated acts of aggression.
US Air Force Confirms Direct Involvement
In the letter, Ambassador Iravani referenced a 25 November 2025 press release issued by the United States Air Force. The statement—publicly made for the first time—confirmed the participation of US military aircraft in strikes against Iran’s safeguarded nuclear facilities during Operation Midnight Hammer.
According to the US Air Force statement:
-
A strike team, including B-2 Spirit bombers, targeted nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in June 2025.
-
The operation was escorted by the 34th Fighter Squadron.
-
On 22 June, F-35 jets flown by the 388th Fighter Wing were reportedly the first to enter Iranian airspace, guiding the bombers toward their targets.
Tehran argues that this disclosure directly supports its long-standing claim that the attacks were not solely carried out by Israel, but were planned and executed jointly with the United States.
Trump’s Recent Statement Cited as Additional Proof
The ambassador also referred to a 6 November 2025 statement by former US President Donald Trump, in which he publicly asserted that Washington played a leading and responsible role in the Israeli operation against Iran.

Iran says this admission further strengthens its accusations that the US deliberately supported and coordinated the aggression.
Iran: “A Clear Violation of the UN Charter”
In his letter, Iravani condemned the June attacks as a blatant breach of:
-
Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity
-
Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, which prohibits the use of force against another state
-
International humanitarian law
He stressed that the strikes targeted civilian areas and infrastructure, actions Iran considers grave violations of international norms.
Tehran Demands Reparations, Legal Action, and Accountability
Ambassador Iravani reiterated that the United States now bears undeniable responsibility for:
-
Compensating Iran for material and moral damages
-
Restitution for losses caused by the strikes
-
Individual criminal accountability for officials involved in what Tehran describes as the crime of aggression
He emphasized that Iran reserves all legal rights, including pursuing cases in international courts and tribunals to secure justice and reparations.
Call for Urgent UN Security Council Response
The letter strongly urged the UN Secretary-General and Security Council members not to remain silent, given Washington’s own admissions.
Iran is pressing for:
-
A formal UN investigation
-
Measures to ensure accountability for both the United States and Israel
-
International action to prevent further escalations
Iravani requested that the letter be circulated as an official UN Security Council document.
