On the first anniversary of the deadly Israeli airstrike on Mamdani Hospital in Gaza, the IRGC released a statement calling for a united response from Muslim nations. The IRGC emphasized the need for Islamic governments and their people to stand together with Iran and the Islamic Resistance to confront the Zionist regime.
The statement was released on Wednesday, marking one year since Israel’s airstrike on October 17, 2023, which targeted the Mamdani Hospital—also known as Ahli Arab Hospital—claiming the lives of over 500 Palestinians. Many victims were civilians seeking refuge from continuous bombings in Gaza.
“The brutal regime’s bombing of the Mamdani Hospital, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of innocent civilians, remains a painful reminder of the atrocities committed against the Palestinian people,” the IRGC’s statement declared.
The hospital attack sparked worldwide condemnation and outrage, with many accusing Israel of war crimes.
The IRGC also addressed Israel’s actions in the context of broader conflicts, referencing the 2023 Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, in which they claim Israel suffered significant setbacks. The statement criticized Israel for fabricating false claims about Hamas’s activities in medical facilities, attempting to justify their assaults on hospitals.
Furthermore, the IRGC condemned the lack of action from international human rights organizations, accusing them of failing in their responsibilities. They claimed that the silence of these organizations has emboldened Israel to carry out atrocities not only in Gaza but also in Lebanon, where over 2,300 people have been killed and nearly 11,000 wounded since October 2023, according to Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry.
In Gaza, Israel’s military actions have been even more devastating. Over 42,200 Palestinians, many of them women and children, have been killed in what the IRGC describes as a campaign of genocide.
The IRGC concluded its statement by urging all Muslims to rise against the Zionist regime and bring an end to the suffering of Palestinians.
