In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Forty-five years ago, on 6 Jadi 1358 of the Solar Hijri calendar, the Soviet Union’s Red Army, with the backing of a small number of local allies, launched its invasion of Afghanistan. This unjust aggression threatened the religion, freedom, prosperity, and social stability of the Afghan people.
Praise be to Allah, the Afghan nation did not waver in the face of this adversity. United and resolute, they stood courageously against the occupying forces, dedicating their lives, wealth, and every resource in the sacred struggle for their religion and homeland.
Through their sacrifices, perseverance, and trust in Allah, the people of Afghanistan inflicted a humiliating defeat on the Soviet forces, compelling their withdrawal after nine long years. This historic victory is a testament to the unwavering faith, indomitable spirit, and love for independence deeply ingrained in the Afghan people.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan denounces the Soviet invasion and solemnly honors the heroic jihad and sacrifices of the Afghan people. We pray for the martyrs who laid down their lives for freedom and independence, asking Allah to grant them the highest ranks in paradise. May those who were wounded or endured hardship for the cause be generously rewarded.
The Islamic Emirate calls on the new generation to draw inspiration from the bravery of their forebears. Let them stand steadfast in protecting their faith and homeland against any form of oppression or foreign aggression, preserving the freedom and dignity of their nation for generations to come.
