Islamic Relief is kicking off weekly “10K Step Challenges” in different cities across the UK, encouraging people to step up for children in need by taking 10,000 steps a day for seven days.

The first challenge will be in Snowden on Saturday, October 15.

“A staggering 1 in 5 children worldwide live in extreme poverty. And that’s why Charity Week is so important!” Islamic Relief wrote on its website.
“A 100% volunteer-led campaign in support of orphans and needy children, Charity Week last year raised over a record breaking £1.8 million to help children across the globe in desperate need of our support.”
At 1,085 meters above sea level, Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands.

Charity Week is organized by Islamic Relief, an international humanitarian organization. It provides aid, food security, and orphan support to people after natural disasters.
Running from October 24-30, it runs under the slogan “For Orphans and Vulnerable Children”.
