The Lagos State Government has announced the initiation of an on-street parking scheme, which is set to commence in October. This new scheme will introduce hourly charges for vehicles parked on designated streets.
However, the specific fees for the hourly charges have not yet been disclosed.
A notice from the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), dated July 19 and signed by the Head of Operations, Ayokunle Akinrimisi, was addressed to the chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) branch.
The notice also highlighted that measures will be enforced against vehicles parked indiscriminately.

The notice stated, “I am directed to inform your esteemed organization that the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) will be implementing its on-street parking scheme on designated streets within the Lagos State metropolis.
“Vehicles parked on designated streets by the church and its members will be charged hourly, and indiscriminately parked vehicles will be subject to enforcement actions accordingly.”
LASPA stressed that law-abiding organizations are expected to comply with the new directive.
