On mission work in the region of Itapua – Paraguay, the missionary Abdun Nur Baten Sahib was invited to the state government offices. He had the opportunity to meet the Governor of Itapua, Mr Christian Brunaga, who gave him a warm welcome. He was introduced to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and it was discussed how the Jamaat can help the people of this state.
The possibility of building a mosque in the region was brought up and the idea was welcomed by the government. Last year, the Jamaat had the opportunity to make a donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the regional hospital and the government remembered this donation and still showed gratitude for the gesture.
After an exchange of gifts, missionary Abdun Nur Baten Sahib was invited to meet all of the state legislatures. He also met with staff from several government departments, including Culture, Indigenous Services and Disaster Relief. With the Secretary of Culture, it was agreed to plan an interfaith dialogue that would be organised in collaboration with the government and the Jamaat.
