The Chief Imam of Minna, Mallam Ibrahim Isah Fari, a highly respected Islamic scholar in Niger State, has passed away at the age of 93. He died on Saturday night and was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic traditions.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the revered cleric. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor described Mallam Isah Fari’s passing as a significant loss to the state and the Muslim community.
The Governor highlighted the late Chief Imam’s humility, peaceful nature, and dedication to fostering unity. He praised his contributions to the propagation of Islam, noting that Mallam Isah Fari lived a life of selflessness and purpose. “His advice and wisdom will be deeply missed,” the Governor remarked.

Similarly, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Muhammad Sarkin-Daji, extended condolences on behalf of the Assembly to the people of the Minna Emirate.
The Speaker paid tribute to the late Chief Imam, describing him as a pious and humble leader who played a vital role in promoting peace and coexistence among different religious groups in the region. He lauded Mallam Isah Fari’s efforts in advocating for love, harmony, and unity within the community and expressed solidarity with the Muslim Ummah during this period of mourning.
The late Mallam Ibrahim Isah Fari’s legacy as a bridge-builder and advocate for peace will be cherished by the people of Minna Emirate and beyond.
