Supporting their efforts to help the community, a local Birmingham store has funded a minibus to help a Muslim outreach community’s efforts in serving the less fortunate.
Specsavers West Bromwich store donated the 15-seat minibus to help the Abrahamic Foundation charity provide community transport to workshops, events, and courses.
“We’ve been long-time supporters of the charity and really admire the work they do,” Majid Jawaid, Specsavers West Bromwich store director, told In Your Area.

“So, when the need arose for wheels to support their work and access for the community, we wanted to help.”
The Abrahamic Foundation Community Outreach is a voluntary organization which serves the needs of the community.
Founded by a group of scholars, teachers and other professional members of the community, the foundation was established in 2009 to serve the diverse needs of the Muslim community.
New Opportunities
The charity managers believe the new minibus will open new opportunities to help the less fortunate in the community.
“We are extremely grateful to Specsavers West Bromwich for their continued support and especially in relation to funding the minibus for us,” centre manager at the Abrahamic Foundation, Shabnam Mughal said.
Generosity and charity are generally blessed in Islamic Shari`ah.
In 2018, 27% of the Birmingham population identified themselves as Muslim. This is significantly higher than the average for England and Wales of 4.8%.
The Muslim community in Birmingham is one of the most diverse after London with a wide spectrum of people originally from Africa, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, Western Asia and other Asian countries.
