In a heartwarming gesture aimed at promoting interfaith harmony, Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Kaduna, has donated prayer materials to the newly built Tudun-Biki Central Mosque in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area.
The donation, comprising over 100 plastic kettles, was presented during the grand inauguration of the mosque on Friday. Pastor Buru explained that the initiative was part of his commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence and mutual respect between Christians and Muslims in the region.
The mosque’s opening also coincided with the somber first anniversary of a drone attack that tragically claimed the lives of several worshippers during a celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Special prayers were held to honor the victims as the mosque officially opened its doors to the community.
In his remarks, Pastor Buru emphasized the importance of building bridges between different faiths, noting that the donation symbolized a desire to promote unity and religious tolerance.
“Christians and Muslims are one family under God,” he said. “We are guided by the Bible and the Quran, which teach us about paradise, hell, and our shared ancestry through Adam and Eve. It’s vital that we support one another and live in peace as brothers and sisters.”
The pastor highlighted his ministry’s history of assisting mosques affected by disasters such as fires and storms, reaffirming the church’s commitment to helping communities in need regardless of their religious affiliations.
Mallam Ibrahim Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who received the donation on behalf of the mosque, expressed deep gratitude to Pastor Buru and his congregation for their thoughtful contributions. The donation also included prayer mats and historical trees, further enriching the worship experience for the mosque’s congregation.
“We are profoundly touched by the solidarity shown by our Christian brothers,” Mallam Ibrahim remarked. “This kind gesture underscores the importance of unity, especially as we gather to commemorate the victims of last year’s tragic bombing and celebrate the opening of this new mosque.”

He urged Nigerians to collectively pray for peace and stability across the nation, stressing the role of patriotism in preserving the country’s unity and dignity.
“This is a time for all of us, regardless of our faiths, to work together toward safeguarding the peace and progress of Nigeria,” he added.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the potential for unity and compassion to transcend religious boundaries, inspiring communities to strive for mutual understanding and cooperation.
