KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his heartfelt Nuzul Quran greetings to Malaysians, regardless of their location, as the nation observes this sacred occasion today.
Taking to Facebook, Anwar expressed the importance of engaging in tadabbur—deep contemplation of the Quran—and seeking divine forgiveness, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
“May Allah SWT grant us the privilege of experiencing Lailatul Qadr, a night more rewarding than a thousand months,” he shared.
Reflecting on the significance of Nuzul Quran, he emphasized that this day marks the momentous event when the first divine revelation was bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad SAW in the Cave of Hira.

“The initial revelation, Iqra (Read), ushered in an era that championed knowledge, justice, and compassion, uplifting human dignity,” Anwar noted.
He further underscored that the Quran serves as an eternal source of guidance for believers and that those who observe Ramadan with sincerity and faith will truly grasp the essence of piety.
Nuzul Quran commemorates the night of the first Quranic revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW on the 17th of Ramadan, an event that took place in the sacred Cave of Hira in Makkah.
