Governor Sani called on more individuals and organizations to support the effort, emphasizing the spiritual rewards of contributing to such a noble cause.
In October 2023, a fundraising committee successfully raised over N2 billion for the project, showcasing the community’s dedication to restoring the iconic structure.
Acknowledging the leadership of the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Nuhu Bamali, the governor pledged that the reconstruction would be completed within 18 months. He praised the swift and widespread support for the initiative, which he described as a reflection of the mosque’s significance and the deep role religion plays in the lives of Nigerians.
The speed and enthusiasm with which people responded to this cause demonstrate the profound respect for this great monument and the vital place of religion in both our personal and national lives,” Governor Sani remarked.
The Zaria Central Mosque holds deep cultural and spiritual importance, and its restoration marks a significant milestone for the community and the state of Kaduna.
