FEED THE POOR

Feeding the poor and needy is an act that draws us closer to Allah. We earn His forgiveness, mercies and blessings through this act of charity.

“Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah?s cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night. (Bukhari)

In accordance with the teachings of Islam, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya always strives for establishing peace and harmony in society all around the world.

The world is currently facing endless conflicts, therefore the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat – under the guidance of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa – organises events to highlight the need and ways to establish lasting peace.

On 24 February 2022, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa issued a press release in which he called the attention of world leaders to play their role in the establishment of world peace, and granted valuable guidance on how to achieve world peace.

After this press release, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Belgium held a meeting to draft a plan to organise an event for highlighting the dire need to establish peace and harmony in society. The meeting was chaired by Dr Idrees Ahmed Sahib, Amir Jamaat Belgium and also attended by the Missionary-in-charge, Hafiz Essan Secundar Sahib and Secretary External Affairs, Sharif Ahmad Sahib.

On 24 May 2022, a delegation of the Jamaat – including the missionary-in-charge and secretary of external affairs – had a meeting with the local Belgium authorities where they informed them in detail about the proposed programme.

On 7 June 2022, written permission was requested from the authorities to hold this campaign in front of the EU Parliament on the day of the EU Summit 2022. The permission was received on 22 June.

The next day, a peaceful gathering was held in front of the EU Parliament with STOPWW3 banners and the distribution of leaflets by more than 60 members of the Jamaat, including Amir Sahib Jamaat Belgium, missionary-in-charge Belgium and local missionaries.

Some media interviews were also given explaining the purpose of this gathering and campaign. The missionaries had some discussions as well with people who stopped and showed interest in the campaign.

The programme was held successfully and concluded with lunch provided by the national ziafat team.
