Manama, June 4 (BNA) – In a step to uphold the long-standing Islamic tradition of performing Eid prayers in open-air grounds, the Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri, conducted a comprehensive inspection tour of several Eid Al Adha prayer venues throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The inspection focused on finalizing arrangements at 17 major musallas and 13 designated spaces specifically set for expatriate communities, alongside the many mosques in the nation’s governorates.
Dr. Shaikh Al Hajri emphasized the national leadership’s dedication to ensuring a spiritually enriching and logistically seamless experience for all worshipers. This initiative, he noted, aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and receives continued support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

“The goal is to guarantee every site is fully prepared to accommodate large gatherings in a smooth and organized manner,” said Dr. Al Hajri. “Our teams are focused on providing carpets, advanced sound systems, and safety-checked electronic installations, as well as well-structured entry and exit routes.”
The main musallas alone are expected to host approximately 85,000 individuals, spread across 52,000 square meters of open space. Meanwhile, the 13 prayer sites allocated for non-Bahraini communities can collectively accommodate 18,000 worshipers. All mosques will also remain accessible for those who prefer to offer their Eid prayers indoors.
Dr. Al Hajri extended his gratitude to all entities that have contributed to the readiness of these facilities. These include the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Works, the Electricity and Water Authority, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), General Sports Authority, King Hamad Hospital, the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), public health institutions, and multiple cultural and community-based organizations.
Eid Al Adha prayers are scheduled to commence promptly at 5:00 AM.
