Once again, Muslim-owned ASDA has launched a £1 hot meal for kids under 16 to cover the school May half term holidays.
This is a part of an initiative to support families during school year.
Offered in their 205 cafes, the kids menu has a variety of offers including Penne Pasta with Meatballs, a vegan Hidden Veg pasta meal, and fish fingers.
In addition children will receive a free piece of fruit such as and apple, pear or banana when purchasing the hot kids £1 meal deal, Teesside Live reported.

First launched in June 2022, the initiative has now served 1,600,000 million meals to kids from its cafes nationwide.
“We know that when families are preparing for half term it can often mean an additional strain on household budgets,” said Kris Comerford, Asda’s Chief Commercial Officer.
“Since the launch of our kids £1 café meal deals in June 2022, we continue to see a significant increase in the number of meals we serve during the school breaks, and we are proud to be able to continue to provide a lifeline to families by extending the offer to cover the May half term holidays.”

Helping Community
So far, more than 1,600,000 meals have been served to kids to support the community.
“We have now served over 1,600,000 million meals since the launch and we hope by continuing to keep this offer running it will help support many more families in the coming weeks,” Comerford added.
Last October, ASDA launched a £1 meal deal for pensioners as part of a new ‘winter warmer’ initiative to support those struggling with spiraling cost of living.
The ASDA Foundation is also providing funding worth £500k to support community groups that are struggling with rising operating costs or increased demand for their vital services in the current climate.
Mohsin and Zuber Issa, founders of the EG Group, restored Asda giant supermarket chain to British ownership after the £6.8 billion takeover deal in 2020.
Earlier in March 2020, they submitted plans for a £5million new mosque in their home town to serve the community and extend bridges between faith groups.
