In a recent cabinet session, President Raeisi issued a powerful condemnation, decrying the silence of certain nations and international bodies in the face of Israel’s egregious transgressions against the oppressed and defenseless people of Palestine. He underscored the urgency of holding those who remain silent accountable, asserting that they will ultimately be judged by history.
President Raeisi reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s unwavering and unequivocal commitment to supporting the Palestinian people. He stressed the imperative of swift action to halt Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza’s residential areas and to ensure access to essential necessities, cautioning against the dire consequences of any delays.
The Iranian president further called upon all nations to fulfill their obligations regarding the ongoing crisis in Gaza, where the Israeli occupying regime continues its brutal attacks against innocent civilians.
On October 7, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, a comprehensive campaign against the Israeli regime’s occupation of Palestinian territories. This operation included extensive air, land, and sea strikes, serving as a response to the repeated desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied al-Quds and the escalated Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in the West Bank.
In retaliation, Israel unleashed a barrage of air strikes on civilian targets in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the tragic loss of over 2,670 Palestinian lives and the injury of approximately 10,000 others, as reported by the territory’s health ministry. The siege on Gaza was further intensified, leaving over 2.3 million Palestinians without access to water, electricity, fuel, and the internet.
Reports indicate that Israel has also razed approximately 135,000 homes and residential units in Gaza since the inception of their brutal offensive.
During a recent phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, President Raeisi drew a grim parallel, likening Israel’s actions against the Palestinians to the crimes committed by the Nazis during World War II. He issued a stark warning, asserting that the scope of this conflict will continue to expand if the Israeli regime persists in its offensive.
President Raeisi emphasized, “If the Zionist regime persists in these crimes against the Palestinian people, the unfolding developments will only grow in magnitude.”
