Toronto Muslim Women Go Virtual to Discuss Raising Leaders

Muslim women are going online on Saturday, June 6, to discuss how to raise future leaders of the community.

Being ME Toronto is a day-long summit for women under the title “Building Our Future Generation.”

The virtual meeting, held on Zoom, comes to allow Muslim women to meet at a time of coronavirus pandemic.

“How can we as a Muslim community raise the future leaders of our ummah? There are so many aspects we need to consider: spirituality, education, mental health, parenting, community work, and so much more,” a statement shared by Muslim Link read.

“Join us for this very special Being ME Muslimah Leaders’ Summit where we will brainstorm and create a holistic framework to ensure the well-being of our future generations.”

Speakers at the summit include Souad Farag, Rownak Chowdhury, Eman Ahmed, Manal Abdel Wahab, and Raiha Idrees.

Being ME is organized by Mercy Mission, a Muslim organization that seeks to bring a world where every Muslim can live faithfully to their belief, building an exemplary Islamic community that benefits humanity.

The group has branches in 8 countries. It is active in building schools and promoting Islamic knowledge according to the authentic teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith.

Being ME Toronto runs events to give the Muslim women a voice to express the reality of their lifestyles. Also to share accomplishments that benefit humanity and inspire others to do the same.

Also, they provide the opportunity for Muslim women to connect with each other to support each other and the Deen.
