What do the scholars of the Dīn and muftīs of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: if a woman was to take pills in order to delay menstruation, so that she can observe all of the fasts of Ramadān, will her fasting be valid?

الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب

Although it is permissible to consume pills to stop menstruation (hayd) and post-natal bleeding (nifās) in order to fast, and the fasts which are kept after doing such are absolutely valid, however, from a medical point of view, to stop hayd and nifās like this could prove to be harmful for one’s health and could disrupt the normal menstrual cycle of a woman. Nevertheless, from a shar’i perspective, it is permissible to do this.
