QUESTION:
What do the scholars of the Dīn and muftīs of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: Can I wear tight clothes if I am praying salāh in my home when I am on my own i.e. nobody can see me – will my salāh be valid?

ANSWER:
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب
Though salāh will be valid if prayed wearing tight clothes, however, it is not permissible for anyone to look at the limbs [i.e. body parts] which are clearly visible. Also, to wear such clothes in front of others is severely meant to be refrained from, and salāh will be valid if the clothes are not so thin that one can see the colour of the skin [or hair]. Otherwise, it is unlawful, and if more than one fourth of that area is left opened [i.e. uncovered/unveiled] in salāh, the salāh will not be valid.
Just as it is stated in Bahār-e-Sharī’at that if one is wearing such thick fabric, through which the body does not show, but it is worn so tight that the shape of the body is evident, then salāh will be valid in such clothing, but for someone to look towards those parts of the body is impermissible. To wear such clothing in the presence of others is disapproved and not allowed, and this is disallowed to a greater degree for females. This law should serve as a warning for those women who wear such tight pants/trousers, etc.
