Muslim World League Demands Strong Action Over Gaza Ceasefire Violations

Mecca | Feb. 2 — The Muslim World League (MWL) has renewed its appeal to the international community to take firm and decisive measures in response to Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement released on Monday and reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa stressed the urgency of holding the Israeli government accountable for breaching the truce and undermining ongoing peace efforts.

Sheikh Al-Issa underscored the need for full adherence to the second phase of the peace framework proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, emphasizing that compliance must include a complete halt to military operations and the guaranteed, unrestricted flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza.

According to the MWL, continued violations not only worsen the humanitarian crisis but also weaken regional and international initiatives aimed at restoring stability and preventing further escalation.

The statement followed a joint declaration issued a day earlier by eight Arab and Islamic countries, which strongly condemned Israel’s repeated breaches of the ceasefire agreement. The countries warned that such actions pose a serious threat to diplomatic efforts and risk deepening the suffering of civilians in the besieged enclave.

The ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, but Gaza authorities report persistent violations. In a statement released on Saturday, the Gaza Government Media Office said Israeli forces have carried out approximately 1,450 violations since the truce began. These incidents reportedly include attacks that contravene international humanitarian law and breach the ceasefire’s humanitarian provisions.

The Muslim World League reiterated its call for immediate international intervention to ensure respect for ceasefire terms, protect civilian lives, and facilitate urgent humanitarian relief for the people of Gaza.
