In a recent directive that underscores the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (IEA) resolve to protect its ideological foundation, the Supreme Leader Sheikh Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada has instructed intelligence agencies to confront and dismantle all internal and external threats—both ideological and covert—against the Islamic system.
According to a statement shared by Zabihullah Mujahid, the chief spokesperson for the IEA, the order was issued during a one-day seminar held for intelligence officials. The leadership stressed the strategic and spiritual responsibility of the intelligence services in defending the principles upon which the Islamic governance was founded.
“The same dedication and sacrifice that led to the formation of the Islamic system must now be employed by the intelligence units to prevent any visible or hidden plots aimed at weakening it,” stated the Supreme Leader in his address.

He further emphasized that intelligence officers must act decisively against any form of disrespect or undermining of Islamic and religious values. Coordination with other state bodies was also encouraged to ensure comprehensive implementation of Sharia law and effective public engagement to preserve national values.
Moreover, Zabihullah Mujahid highlighted the leadership’s reminder to agents about the importance of humane and ethical conduct. Intelligence operatives were instructed to act with kindness towards civilians, avoid arbitrary arrests, prohibit torture, uphold the confidentiality of operations, and remain unwavering in their commitment to justice and Islamic law.
This directive marks a renewed focus by the IEA on reinforcing internal stability while aligning security practices with Islamic principles.
