In the aftermath of the military operation known as Operation True Promise II, Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani, commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has confirmed that the Islamic Republic’s defense capabilities have undergone a rapid and surprising transformation.
Speaking during a strategic review on Thursday, General Ghaani highlighted that Iran’s national defense system has evolved significantly in recent months, achieving results that have stunned observers, both domestically and internationally.

“The Islamic Republic is engaging in diplomacy with wisdom and strategic foresight,” he stated. “But the era of relying solely on negotiations is over.”
According to Ghaani, Iran’s focus has pivoted from waiting on diplomatic resolutions to building tangible military strength. He emphasized that, in the few months following the launch of Operation True Promise II, Iran’s defense development has accelerated beyond expectations.
“What our defense sector has achieved in just five to six months would ordinarily take years. The progress has surprised many, even our adversaries,” he remarked.
This statement underscores a significant policy and military shift in Iran’s posture in the region. While the country maintains diplomatic engagements, its leadership is now more focused on enhancing deterrence and self-reliance in security matters.
The announcement comes amid growing regional tensions and reinforces Iran’s message that it is not only prepared for dialogue but also fully capable of defending its sovereignty.
