Mihrab-e-Zakariyyah


Mihrab-e-Zakariyyah is a small prayer niche located in the eastern part of Masjid al-Qibly. It was built to commemorate the Prophet Zakariyyah (peace be upon him), who was the keeper of the Holy Sacred (Masjid al-Aqsa).

It is also said that this place was the place where Maryam (peace be upon her) was settled and visited by Zakhariyya (peace be upon him), but there is no genuine evidence of this.
