Muslim World League Applauds Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

The Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed its strong support for the newly announced ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, acknowledging the critical role played by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in facilitating this significant step toward peace.

In an official statement, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, voiced optimism that this ceasefire would mark the beginning of the end of the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The region has long endured unimaginable suffering due to relentless aggression, as highlighted in the statement released Thursday via the Saudi Press Agency.

Dr. Al-Issa underscored the urgent need for all parties to honor the terms of the ceasefire, stressing the importance of halting aggression and ensuring the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and all occupied Palestinian territories.

Additionally, he reiterated the MWL’s firm stance on the rights of the Palestinian people, emphasizing their entitlement to an independent and sovereign state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its rightful capital.
