The Muslim World League (MWL) has issued a strong rebuke of recent comments made by U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, regarding Israel’s regional expansion policies.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the Riyadh-based organization described the remarks as irresponsible and politically reckless. The League warned that such statements risk undermining regional stability and infringe upon the sovereignty of states, characterizing them as a clear breach of international law and long-standing diplomatic principles.

According to the MWL, any political rhetoric that appears to legitimize territorial expansion runs counter to global legal standards and contradicts previously stated commitments within U.S.-backed peace initiatives. The organization emphasized that maintaining regional security requires adherence to international agreements and respect for established borders.
Call for International Legitimacy and Palestinian Statehood
The League reiterated that genuine and lasting peace in the Middle East hinges on implementing internationally recognized resolutions. Central to these efforts, it noted, is the affirmation of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state.
The MWL stressed that such rights are inalienable and cannot be dismissed or diminished by political commentary. It underscored that sustainable stability depends on upholding international legitimacy and respecting the political aspirations of affected populations.
Widespread Regional Reaction
Huckabee’s remarks have sparked strong reactions across the Arab and Islamic worlds, with several organizations and political figures voicing concern over the implications for regional peace efforts.
The Muslim World League concluded its statement by urging all parties to act responsibly and in alignment with international law to prevent further escalation and preserve prospects for a negotiated settlement.
