The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has officially commenced the distribution of Ramadan welfare packages aimed at supporting vulnerable residents across the state.
The launch ceremony took place on Sunday at the Zakkat and Endowment Board headquarters in Gusau, where the First Lady disclosed that 16,000 carefully verified beneficiaries would receive assistance under the programme.

Coverage Across 19 Emirate Councils
Hajiya Huriyya explained that the welfare outreach spans all 19 Emirate Councils in the state. The targeted beneficiaries include orphans, widows, and other vulnerable households identified through a screening process.
She emphasized that the initiative reflects the administration’s determination to prioritise the welfare of disadvantaged citizens, particularly during periods of economic hardship.
