Abuja, Nigeria – As preparations intensify for the 2025 Hajj exercise, the Madinah Feeding Committee of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led by Alhaji Abdullahi Kabir, has carried out a comprehensive inspection of food service facilities designated for Nigerian pilgrims in the holy city of Madinah.
This development was disclosed in an official statement by Suwaiba Ahmed, the Information Officer of NAHCON, released on Friday in Abuja.
The inspection team, which included the NAHCON Advance Delegation and was led by the Madinah Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulkadir Oloyin, toured seven kitchen facilities contracted to provide meals during the pilgrimage.

According to the statement, the objective of the inspection was to evaluate the readiness of the caterers in terms of hygiene standards, food quality, and overall service preparedness. The team closely examined the cleanliness of the premises, kitchen equipment, and the availability of adequate manpower to ensure a smooth feeding operation throughout the Hajj period.
During the tour, Alhaji Oloyin held discussions with the caterers, raising concerns about the use of low-quality plastic containers for food packaging. Following deliberations, all service providers agreed to adopt a standardized packaging method to ensure consistency and safety.
He also emphasized the critical importance of adhering to the NAHCON-approved menu and ensuring punctual delivery of meals directly to pilgrims’ accommodations. He warned that non-compliance would attract strict penalties.
Meanwhile, NAHCON’s Accommodation Committee is working diligently to finalize all arrangements ahead of the scheduled arrival of the first batch of Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia on May 9, 2025.
The inspection is part of NAHCON’s broader commitment to safeguarding the welfare and satisfaction of Nigerian pilgrims during the sacred journey.
