“Verily, your Lord is magnanimous and shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication), he is embarrassed to return them empty (Ahmad, Abu Dawood, Tirmizi) “
Imagine that your neighbor has a personal servant. You will find out that a servant asks for a house, a quaint machine and a TV with a large screen.
Personally, what do you think you would do in this situation? The most likely thing that this will happen is that you will simply look at it stupidly. Most likely, the only thing that can be in your mind is: “His task is to work and get money, and not start asking for gifts and free handouts.’ Let us take another look at the scene and assume that the neighbor did not say “yes,” but he encourages him to ask for more items.
If this really was to happen, any ordinary observer would be clearly puzzled by the peculiarity of this scene. However, if we looked at the scene from a different angle, we could look at it in a different way. In fact, this scene is very similar to the connection between Allah (swt) and his servants (except that the kingdom of Allah did not decrease at all, contrary to if we gave).
The love of Allah for His servants can be beautifully described in the following hadith: “Verily, your Lord is magnanimous and shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication), he is embarrassed to return them empty (Ahmad, Abu Dawood, Tirmizi). ” Another hadeeth, which speaks of the greatness of Dua:
Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him): “In the court of Allah there is nothing but the Duamah” (Ibn Majah).
There are advantages of making Dua, including
1. Loss of arrogance: For someone who makes a constant Dua, arrogance is something that does not belong to their characteristics, because when someone pleads with Allah, he claims his own impotence.
2. Doing the Dua. In principle: you get what you want. For people who sometimes see that their Duas are not accepted, there is either the option that the Dua will be accepted later in this life, or in a future life, or an option that Dua will take in other ways, as one hadeeth said, Jabir narrates from the Prophet SAW): “He who does Dwada to Allah, Allah fulfills his search or in exchange, rejects misfortune, while the duo is not connected with sin or does not violate any relationship” (Tirmizi)

One personal example that I can tell is that when I was younger, I wanted to win first place in the contest for the Quran, and so I did Dua to Allah (swt) to help me win. Unfortunately, when the day came for the competition, there was another event that was happening somewhere else, and I had to go with the parents to this event, and not to the competition. I was sad because I really wanted to win this competition, and I thought what happened to my Dua.
In two weeks my parents will take me to a speech contest, and there I learned that the organizers will also hold a contest in the Koran. I signed up for the contest and after participating in it, the award ceremony began. Before the start of the work, the organizers made a statement that aroused my fear; They said that they would like to thank the organizers of the contest of the Koran, which took place two weeks ago, because the format of the whole contest was exactly the same as the one that was held two weeks ago. I was even more angry when I found out that I took the first place.
Looking back, I realized that if we do Dua, Allah (swt) will answer it best for us. Therefore, if we do not immediately recognize that our Dua is being accepted, we should not despair, because either it will help us in the fight against some misfortune, or it can be taken later …
3. The doors of mercy are opened: Abdullah bin Umar said that the Prophet (SAW) said: “For whoever opens the door of Dua, the doors of mercy were opened for him …” (Tirmidhi)
4. He has the power to change destiny: (only the minor destiny – not as important as the signs of the Day of Judgment) – Salman Farsi said that the Prophet (SAW) said: “Dua turns away fate and good deeds, lengthens age,” (Tirmizi)
There are indubitable things that should be kept in mind with regard to Dua:
1. The prophet once said: “Dua – Ibada” (Tirmizi, Ibn Majah and Abu Dawud). Because this is a type of worship, this is something that we should always do. This is even to the extent that the Prophet (SAW) said: “Allah is extremely dissatisfied with a man who does not make a duah to Allah” (Tirmidhi).
2. As mentioned earlier, Dua must always be fulfilled. In our time, we talk only about our duals, when difficulties get stuck with us and are the last resort, when everything else has failed. However, this should not be the way the Prophet (SAW) said: “Anyone who desires that Allah answer his Dois in unfavorable and difficult circumstances, he must make abundant duads in days of ease and comfort.”
3. Try to make Dua for others, because if you do this, the same can happen to you. In the Qur’an there are certain ayaks, such as the last aya in Sura Nuh, whose meaning,
‘O my Lord (Allah)! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house in the Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women; But not to the unfaithful, but to destruction!’.
If you want to read this verse, you will get a sin erased for every Muslim living in this world. In addition, the Prophet (SAW) said: “Duaa for a man who is not, quickly accepted by Allah.”
4. Have complete confidence that Allah will accept the Dua, because if you do not, then there is a high probability that he will not be accepted. The Prophet (SAW) said: “When one of you makes a Dua, then do not say” O Allah! Forgive me if you want’, ‘Have mercy on me if you want’, ‘Give me life if you want, “rather believe that He will do whatever He pleases. No one can make Him “(Bukhari)
5. The best time to do Dua is when the person is in Sujud, the times between Adhan and Ikama, as well as at other times, as indicated in the following hadiths, in which the Prophet (SAW) said: “Three types of people of Duas Not rejected:
1) During Iftar, a person who fasted.
2) The Adil ruler’s Dua.
3) Dua of the oppressed. Allah lifts the Dua of the oppressed on the clouds, and the doors of heaven open, and Allah says: “The oath of My Majesty and Honor! I will help and help you. Even if help is in a few days “(Tirmidhi)
