Grave of the Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him)


Prophet Shuaib Grave: It is believed that this tomb belongs to Shuaib (peace be upon him). He is considered the father-in-law of Musa (peace be upon him) and was sent to the people of Madian, a community of merchants who controlled the great trade routes between Yemen and Syria, and also between Iraq and Egypt on the shores of the Red Sea.

Shuaib (peace be upon him) is mentioned in the Holy Quran 11 times, in the Bible he is known as Jethro. The people of Madyan were originally true followers of Ibrahim (peace be upon him), but gradually over the centuries they became involved in disobedience and sin. In particular, they were involved in:

1. Idol worship and many-fold customs

2. Fraud in the provision of measures, but the requirement in full or more than the right

3. Lies in all affairs and robbery of people

Allah mentions in the Holy Qur’an in Surat Al-Araf: “And Madian (We sent) their brother Shoiba. He said: “O my people! Serve God! You have no other god but Him. Lo! Obvious evidence has come to you from your Lord; so that give full measure and full weight and wrong not humanity in their goods, and the work is not to be confused on earth after their fair order. It will be better for you if you are believers. ” [7:85]

Shuaib (peace be upon him) was very upset to see that his people were doing bad things. He advised them to seek forgiveness from Allah. Alas, they abstained and were destroyed by an earthquake.

Shuaib (peace be upon him) was known for his eloquence and good speech. According to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), whenever the Prophet (SAW) mentioned him, he said: “He was an orator of the Prophets.”

Shuaib (peace be upon him) was ethnically Arab. In the Hadith, narrated by Abu Zarr (may Allah be pleased with him), it is said: “Four of the Arabs. Hud, Salih, Shuaib and your Prophet, O Abu Dharr! “.

The tomb of Shuaib (peace be upon him) is said to be in Hadramawte, Yemen.
