Canadian Muslim Wrestler Fulfills Umrah Dream

Renowned World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Sami Zayn has performed Umrah in the holy city of Makkah, fulfilling an old dream to visit the holy city.

The WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champion went to Twitter to share pictures of himself in an ihram beside the Holy Kaa`bah with an emotional note regarding his experience.

“Being a pro wrestler and being with WWE has taken me to places I never dreamed I’d get to see and do things I never thought I’d get to do,” wrote Zayn.

“It has provided me a life filled with incredible experiences that I will cherish forever. This one is at the top of the list,” he added.

In addition to Zayn’s post, WWE also shared a Vlog of Zayn’s entire journey of pilgrimage to Makkah.

Zayn’s umrah comes ahead of his important Tag Team Championship title defense against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions event hosted in Jeddah.

Sami Zayn is a Canadian-born Muslim wrestler of Syrian descent. He has been linked with WWE for eight years.

Originally from Syria, Zayn found it difficult to visit Saudi Arabia over the past years due to diplomatic tensions.

Saudi Arabia has now renewed its diplomatic relationship with Syria, allowing citizens of the two countries to travel freely.
