The Qur’an Recitation Competition held in memory of Hajia Abibatu Mogaji Tinubu, the late mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially concluded, with four outstanding young participants receiving keys to luxury homes.
Spearheaded by Senator Bashir Lado, the national contest brought together over 100 talented young Muslims from all 44 local government areas, each demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication in memorizing and reciting the Holy Qur’an.
In a show of appreciation and encouragement, the first-place male and female winners were each awarded three-bedroom, one-parlor luxury homes, while the second-place winners received two-bedroom, one-parlor houses. These homes are fully equipped with modern features to support comfortable living.
Professor Ali Muhammad, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee, explained that the competition was designed not only to honor the late Hajia Abibatu Mogaji’s legacy but also to promote Islamic scholarship and spiritual development among young Nigerian Muslims.
“Our goal is to nurture a generation grounded in the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and committed to national growth and moral integrity,” Prof. Muhammad stated.

The event drew the presence of notable dignitaries including former President Muhammadu Buhari, the Emir of Daura, and former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika, highlighting the importance of nurturing religious knowledge and national values in youth.
The initiative is seen as a meaningful step toward reinforcing Islamic teachings while recognizing academic excellence in Qur’anic memorization. It also serves as a lasting tribute to Hajia Abibatu Mogaji’s values of education, spirituality, and service.
