Dubai – Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued fresh guidance for pilgrims performing Tawaf around the Kaaba, urging them not to stop or linger near the Black Stone (Al Hajar Al Aswad).
According to the ministry, standing for long periods in front of the stone disrupts the steady movement of worshippers, creates congestion, and may pose safety risks in the crowded courtyards of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

The Black Stone, located on the Kaaba’s eastern corner, holds deep spiritual significance for Muslims. However, the ministry emphasized that Tawaf remains valid without physically touching or kissing the stone. Instead, pilgrims are encouraged to simply raise their hands in a gesture of reverence as they pass by, continuing with prayers and remembrance.
Officials highlighted that following these instructions will help maintain an organized flow of worshippers, ensure safety, and allow everyone to experience Tawaf in a spiritually fulfilling and peaceful manner.
