In celebration of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha (Sallah), the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has announced the distribution of meat from 6,000 sacrificial cows to vulnerable Muslim communities across Nigeria.
This significant Qurbani initiative is set to take place in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. According to reliable sources, beneficiaries will be drawn from Bauchi, Oyo, Sokoto, Gombe, Kano, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Kogi, Niger, and Jigawa states, with the goal of reaching underprivileged and indigent families in these areas.

The annual Qurbani distribution is part of TDV’s longstanding humanitarian mission to combat hunger and foster community support during the Islamic festive season. Each year, the foundation partners with local organizations to ensure that thousands of families benefit from the meat donations during Eid-ul-Adha.
Beyond the Eid sacrifice program, the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation is known for its diverse charitable projects across Africa. These include the construction of mosques, provision of iftar meals during Ramadan, installation of boreholes to provide access to clean water, educational scholarships, and even free surgical operations for those in need.
The foundation’s commitment to humanitarian aid continues to strengthen bonds between Turkey and Islamic communities around the world, particularly in regions where poverty and lack of access to basic amenities remain critical challenges.
This year’s Eid-ul-Adha is expected to be a time of relief and joy for thousands of Nigerian families, thanks to the generosity and continued support of the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation.
