Two men have been formally charged in connection with an alleged arson attack targeting a mosque in Peacehaven earlier this month.
According to Sussex Police, officers launched an investigation on the evening of Saturday, October 4, after receiving reports that two individuals had attempted to start a fire outside a mosque located on Phyllis Avenue.
Following an extensive investigation, Ricky Ryder, aged 38, of Richington Way, Seaford, and Jack Slowey, aged 34, of Mayfield Avenue, Peacehaven, have both been charged with arson with intent to endanger life.

Police confirmed that the pair remain in custody and are scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 24.
In addition, a 42-year-old man from Peacehaven who was previously arrested in connection with the case has been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police cautioned members of the public to avoid online speculation about the case, emphasizing that sharing unverified information could potentially interfere with court proceedings.
The two suspects are expected to appear in court in London on Friday morning (October 24).
