In a significant military action, the US conducted airstrikes in Yemen on Wednesday evening, deploying B-2 stealth bombers for the first time in this region. The strikes targeted five underground weapons storage facilities, according to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
Three US defense officials, speaking to CNN after the attack, confirmed that the sites contained advanced conventional weapons. These weapons were reportedly used to launch attacks on both military and civilian vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
