Kaduna, NigeriaThe Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has reiterated the critical need for religious harmony in tackling the numerous challenges confronting Nigeria. He made this passionate appeal during a Quranic graduation ceremony held in Kaduna on Saturday.

The event marked the graduation of 22 students from the Darul-Ilm Islamic Centre, a modern educational facility established by the Director-General of the State Security Services (SSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi. Notably, Mr. Ajayi, a non-Muslim, funded and built the centre to support Muslim orphans and children from underprivileged backgrounds in the Danbushiya community of Chikun Local Government Area.

The Sultan lauded this generous gesture, describing it as a beacon of hope for Nigeria’s future and a testament to the powerful bonds that can exist between people of different faiths. The centre has been named in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In his speech, the Sultan emphasized that Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity and that genuine collaboration between religious groups could pave the way for lasting peace and national advancement.

“We must look beyond our religious and ethnic differences. Our unity is our strength. When Muslims, Christians, and people of other faiths come together, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome,” the Sultan stated.

He called on all Nigerians to pray for their leaders, foster mutual respect, and focus on collective goals rather than divisions.
