Addressing journalists during the gathering, a respected community elder, Alhaji Salahu, emphasized the significance of Ilorin as a bastion of Islamic scholarship. “Ilorin stands as a beacon of Islamic knowledge, and the Holy Qur’an remains our moral compass. The Emir of Ilorin embodies this piety and leadership,” he remarked.
Salahu further noted that the special prayer was a symbolic act of unity, reflecting the Emir’s unwavering support for Governor AbdulRazaq, whom he referred to as “his son. He added that the collaborative spirit between the Governor and President Tinubu is key to fostering development both at the state and national levels.
“Our Governor has, over the last six years, earned a reputation as a model leader—especially in his reverence for traditional institutions. The Emir’s support is a reflection of this mutually respectful relationship,” he concluded.
The event underscored the central role of traditional and religious institutions in nation-building and the continuous intercession for peace and good governance in Nigeria.
