Kwara Emir Hosts Prayers for President Tinubu and Governor AbdulRazaq’s Administration

In a significant spiritual gesture, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, convened a special prayer session in Ilorin on Saturday, seeking divine guidance and support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The event, held at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin, drew scores of respected Islamic scholars and clerics from across the state. The collective prayers were focused on Nigeria’s stability, unity, and progress under the current leadership.

Presiding over the session was the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Soliu, accompanied by other prominent Islamic leaders including Sheikh AbdulHamid Abdullahi (Imam Imale of Ilorin), Imam Yakubu Aliagan, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa (Grand Mufti of Ilorin), Ajanasi, and Alfa Rabana, among others.

Addressing journalists during the gathering, a respected community elder, Alhaji Salahu, emphasized the significance of Ilorin as a bastion of Islamic scholarship. “Ilorin stands as a beacon of Islamic knowledge, and the Holy Qur’an remains our moral compass. The Emir of Ilorin embodies this piety and leadership,” he remarked.

Salahu further noted that the special prayer was a symbolic act of unity, reflecting the Emir’s unwavering support for Governor AbdulRazaq, whom he referred to as “his son. He added that the collaborative spirit between the Governor and President Tinubu is key to fostering development both at the state and national levels.

“Our Governor has, over the last six years, earned a reputation as a model leader—especially in his reverence for traditional institutions. The Emir’s support is a reflection of this mutually respectful relationship,” he concluded.

The event underscored the central role of traditional and religious institutions in nation-building and the continuous intercession for peace and good governance in Nigeria.
