In most religions there are places for their worship, in Islam there is a mosque for worship. The mosque is the place where Muslims worship and pray to Almighty Allah. In the Arab mosque is called Masjid or Jami. A mosque is a kind of house or open ground where Muslims offer Salah (Nimaz) to the congregation. Some mosques are also used as places where Muslims get together and discuss things or where religious education takes place. This is not only a place for prayer, but also the center of the community and where many wonderful works of Islamic art have been created.
All Muslims are required to visit the mosque on Friday for Jummah prayer. Muslims also offer prayers at the mosque five times daily, also come and learn about the Islamic faith, the teachings of the Holy Quran, learning how to read and pronounce it from Ulama. Muslims must give money to charities, which they often donate in mosques.
There are many rules that Muslims must obey when they are in a mosque. In most mosques, a religious leader named Imam is in charge of prayer. Muslims must be clean before entering the mosque. There are washing areas where they can do wudu before entering the prayer hall. The floors of such a hall are usually covered with carpet. You can not step on him with shoes, because Muslims offer Salah on it. Loud communication is prohibited in the mosques. It is also disrespectful to walk in front of Muslims who pray.
Mosque in Islam
The first mosques were modeled at the place of worship of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the courtyard of his house in Medina. It was just a piece of land designated as sacred. Although the mosque itself underwent many architectural changes, the building remains essentially an open space, usually covered over it, in which Mihrab and Minbar are located. A common feature of many mosques is the minaret, a tall, thin tower that is usually located at one of the corners. From the minaret, the muezzin or imam proclaim the call to prayer (Adhan) five times a day.
In the Masjid prayer hall there are usually no benches or chairs. Worshipers pray in rows in front of the Holy Kaaba, the center of which is Muslims of the whole world and offer prayer. There are no photos on the walls of the mosque. Some mosques display Koran verses on walls to help fans. Each mosque has a Mihrab, a niche in the wall that points to the Holy Kaaba. From Minbar, the imam delivers his speech.
Prayers in mosques with a congregation are considered the best way to offer prayers to Almighty Allah. Most Muslims prefer to offer prayer in the congregation and avoid individual prayers for fear of using the wrong methods. We should all try to offer prayers with a congregation in the mosques in order to get the best rewards in the best possible way.
