In this journey through the Names of Allah, we learned about His attributes of Beauty and about majestyThe goal is to instill fear, hope and, ultimately, love. If we do not understand Allah Subhanahu va ta & # 39; ala (exalted), we cannot see wisdom for what is happening in the world or in our personal life. We might not understand how Allah (swt) fits into our lives. It can also be difficult for us to love Him, because how you can love someone — deeply love someone — you don’t know?

Thus, it is hoped that these Names increased our knowledge of our Creator and clearly showed how Allah (swt) is with us at every moment.

Today's name should inspire us "khashya& # 39; as well as & # 39;Hayba". These words are sometimes translated as “fear,” thereby eliminating the important differences between the two words. B & # 39;Sweetness of prayer& # 39 ;, We explained the difference between different types of fear:

"Khawf" must run from what you fear, and does not require knowledge of what you fear. You may be afraid or have "Khawf"the darkness. "Khashya"on the other hand, it is fear with knowledge. The more a servant knows about his Lord, the more "Khawf" turns into "Khashya"As Allah (swt) in the Quran says:

35-28

"Only those fear Allah, from His servants, who have knowledge" (35:28).

"Hayba" it is fear associated with respect, reverence, and glorification. You might, for example, be afraid of fire. But the reason for your fear is that the fire can harm you, so the fire does not get "Hayba"; you do not glorify him. However, you may have "Hayba" your father; you might be afraid to do something wrong in front of him, but this fear is out of respect.

Al-qahhar: Dominator

Name of allah al-qahhar comes from the Arabic root qaf-haa-ra (ق-ه-ر). It means “dominate” or “obey from above”. Allah (swt) speaks in the Qur'an in Surat al-Aaham;

"And He is a subordinate (al-qaahiru) over his servants. And He is Wise (al-hakim), [with all] (al-khabeer). (6:18)

Someone with this attribute can be considered a tyrant, so Allah (swt) tells us that this attribute belongs to Tom, who is also The wisest and the one who is better acquainted with everything. This link is also intended for those who doubt this attribute, and may ask: “Why did Allah not suppress the tyrants today, of whom there are many?” Allah (swt) reminds us that there is absolute wisdom in which He chooses to subordinate to any moment in time. This is where our understanding of the holistic nature of the names of Allah should come: we spoke earlier about how Allah (swt) sustained and A patientand He gives people — even tyrants — the opportunity to return.

Thus, we see in the Quran that Allah sends Moses and Aaron `alayhimaa as-salaam (may the peace of Allah be upon both of them) to Pharaoh – and calling Pharaoh “oppressive” would be an understatement! – telling them to talk to him gently first. Pharaoh rejects them. Then Moses shows him the proof of his prophecy. Pharaoh again rejects him, insisting on the enslavement of the children of Israel. Finally, Allah (swt) overpowers him, drowning him, using someone from the people who are oppressed by Pharaoh, who grew up in his own house. This is the way al-qahharwho exerts his power by subjecting tyrants to the objects of their tyranny.

This is why Imam al-Ghazali describes al-qahhar thus: “The Dominator is one who breaks the back of the mighty among His enemies … Indeed, there is no existing subject that does not submit to the dominance of His power and impotence in His grip. It's all."
Therefore, when we look at today's events and wonder "where al-qahhar? “We must remember the story of Moses. Remember that Moses won. Remember that Pharaoh was depressed.

Our role is to fight this oppression, knowing that ultimately this is what we will be asked about and everything is subject to the Will of Allah (swt). Indeed, so many tyrannical forces eventually collapse, bowing to the will al-qahharUnfortunately, we cannot attribute it to Him, but as Allah (swt) tells us:

“The day they come out, nothing will be hidden from Allah. Who owns [all] sovereignty on this day? Allah, the One, the Predominant (al-qahhar). "(40:16)

On this day, everything will be obvious. All those who are oppressed, apparently in a small and large way, will be before Allah, al-qahharThen there will be no ambiguity.
Life with these names

one – Balance of fear and hope

Today's name can make us afraid. This is not a topic that we would like to talk about, because it is much more encouraging to focus on those attributes that allow us to relax. But, remembering that Allah (swt) has the attributes of Majesty, should impart to us "khashya& # 39; as well as & # 39;Hayba& # 39; Described earlier. Moreover, the names of Allah must be considered holistically. is he al-qahhar and He also al-latif (thin, very kind).

2 – Dominate your low desires
In previous articles we talked about how we should imitate the attributes of Beauty. But what about the attributes of Majesty? How do we apply them? Al-Ghazali advised: “The dominant among the people is the one who subordinates his enemies. The greatest enemy of man is his soul, which is inside him. This soul is more an enemy to him than Satan, whose enmity is on his guard. He who conquers his passions conquers Satan, since Satan lures him into ruin with his passions. ”

3 – Use this fear to stop at least one sin.

To know that Allah al-qahhar it is to burn the desire of sin in the heart. Since Allah (swt) is a Dominator, we should be afraid that, perhaps, al-qahhar, al-mumeet (Life-Ticker) can take our soul when we commit sin. This should warn us that, despite the fact that it seems to us that we are allowed to oppress our souls, we can still face the fate mentioned in this verse:

“When they forgot that they were reminded, we opened the doors for everyone [good] until they were glad that they were given, We suddenly grabbed them, and they were [then] in despair "(Quran, 6:44)

These people used the gifts of Allah (swt) in the reverse order for what they were intended for, and then they were seized. In another chapter, Allah (swt) describes to us people in the garden who have taken an oath that they will reap all their fruits and leave nothing for the poor. Allah (swt) made their garden burn completely to the ground, but the owners of this garden understood the lesson. They wished for something, but Allah (swt) overpowered their will, and therefore they turned to Him.

Therefore, this fear should not paralyze us from goodwill, but it should paralyze us from bad actions. We should try to choose at least one thing — for example, harm or lie — and make every effort to use this name to help us stop it.

four – Do not oppress others

The surest way to earn anger al-qahhar to oppress others. Allah (swt) says in the Quran: “As for the orphan, do not oppress [him] (fa laa taqhar) "(93: 9). Word & # 39;taqhar& # 39; Comes from the same root name al-qahharWe must understand that oppression is not just unjust leaders or cruel traffickers. We can also oppress others in more sophisticated ways, and therefore we must be diligent to avoid it.
